Edmonton Oilers forwards Connor McDavid (97) and Leon Draisaitl (29) talk. Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The 100-point milestone is one many players strive to hit in one season. Normally a few players will each year, but the 2021-22 season saw eight hit the mark.

Connor McDavid, Johnny Gaudreau, Jonathan Huberdeau, Leon Draisaitl, Kirill Kaprizov, Auston Matthews, Steven Stamkos and Matthew Tkachuk all reached 100 points last season, and a few more missed out on the mark that probably would have hit it if not for injuries in J.T. Miller (99 points in 80 games), Mitch Marner (97 in 72) and Artemi Panarin (96 in 75).

Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk answered another inbox question on "Daily Faceoff Live," this one asking how many 100-point players we’ll see in 2022-23.

Frank Seravalli: “I’m going to say six. So I’ve got McDavid, Draisaitl, Kaprizov, Matthews, and I’m going to go with Roman Josi and Mikko Rantanen. So that’s my six, so I’m going to say that Stamkos, Tkachuk, Huberdeau and Gaudreau all do not hit the 100-point mark for the second year in a row.”

Tyler Yaremchuk: “Alright, I’m going one higher than you. I’m going with seven. I actually agree with who’s going to slide out. The guys I have sliding up are Mitch Marner, Nathan MacKinnon, and I also have a defenseman cracking the 100-point mark this season, but I’m going with Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche. That’s my spicy take on this, Makar gets to 100. So I’m going to go with seven, but I agree, we’ll see it drop off from the eight last season.”
