Maybe the Chicago Blackhawks can get a break at home on Sunday once they wash the road off. The Seattle Kraken avenged its 4-3 loss from two weeks ago with a 7-1 victory Thursday night. It sent the Blackhawks to their third straight loss after having a pair of victories in a row.

After a 2-0 lead, Taylor Raddysh notched the first Blackhawks goal of the game pulling them within a goal. But the Kraken answered back, replenishing the lead to 3-1.

They’d add two more in the second and well, it was pretty evident that the Blackhawks would be on the wrong side of the outcome again. Petr Mrazek would come in after the seventh goal to relieve Arvid Soderblom who surrendered seven on 24 shots.

Soderblom Starving for a Win

With only one win in his last 11 starts, it’s been a tough road to hoe for Arvid Soderblom. He had a couple goals he’d probably like back Thursday night, but the Blackhawks haven’t always been giving goal support in his appearances either. But the sparkling save percentage that started his season has dipped.

After a couple sharp starts, Soderblom has only seen a save percentage of .900 just four times in those 11 decisions. But Thursday’s performance boiled down to a team in front of him that is just not close to full strength.

Blackhawks Miss Seth Jones

For some fans who ballyhoo Seth Jones in large part to his bloated cap hit, his impact was sorely missed in the pair of games that he missed. Yes, Kevin Korchinski missed too but Jones being out depleted the Blackhawks of another veteran presence and also some of the little things that he does to disrupt.

Regardless, the Hawks have to regroup and figure it out as things don’t get easier with Vancouver and Colorado set to visit the United Center on Sunday and Tuesday respectively.
