The Buffalo Sabres announced Thursday morning that forward Jeff Skinner is out week-to-week with an upper body injury.

It is presumed that Skinner sustained the injury during Buffalo’s last outing against the Seattle Kraken on Tuesday. He was one of their better players, recording a goal and an assist and earning a “B” grade from Buffalo Hockey Now’s grading system.

The Jeff Skinner injury puts a hold on a very strong season. He had a case to be the Sabres representative at the All-Star game in February, but the nomination went to defenseman Rasmus Dahlin instead.

Skinner has 17 goals and 16 assists for 33 points in 38 games this season for the Sabres.
