Winnipeg Jets forward Rasmus Kupari left Tuesday’s game vs. the New Jersey Devils with an upper-body injury and did not return, according to the team’s social media.

Kupari, 23, appeared to injury his arm or shoulder following a collision midway through the first period. He went straight down the tunnel holding his arm.

Kupari has one assist in 14 games this season.

The native of Kotka, Finland was taken 20th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Jets last June, along with Alex Iafallo, Gabriel Vilardi and a second-round pick in 2024 in the Pierre-Luc Dubois trade.

Kupari was a restricted free agent last summer, but the Jets signed Kupari to a two-year, $2M extension on Aug. 2.

In three seasons with the Kings between 2020-21 and 2022-23, Kupari scored nine goals and 20 assists for 29 points in 130 games. Through all four of his NHL seasons, he’s never averaged more than 11:48 of ice time.

Through 85 games with the AHL’s Ontario Reign, he scored 24 goals and 24 assists for 48 points.

Kupari represented Finland three times at the World Juniors between 2018 and 2020, winning a gold medal in 2019.
