Kings forward Viktor Arvidsson out for Game 2 against Oilers
It looks like the Los Angeles Kings will be missing left wing Viktor Arvidsson for a second straight game as they try to take a two-game lead over the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Swedish winger did not participate in the morning skate on Tuesday in Edmonton, although head coach Todd MacLellan didn't want to rule him out too quickly. McLellan confirmed Arvidsson will be out of the lineup following Wednesday's practice.
Arvidsson was a game-time decision for Game 1 on Monday after sustaining an undisclosed injury. CBS Sports reported earlier in the week Arvidsson's injury may have been sustained during practice over the weekend.
The 29-year-old registered 49 points (20 goals, 29 assists) in 61 games played this season, his first with the Kings.
L.A. is coming off an exciting 4-3 victory over Edmonton in Game 1. The Kings and Oilers were tied up 3-3 heading into the third frame until Phillip Danault deflected a shot past netminder Mike Smith for the game-winner.
