Seattle Kraken center Jaden Schwartz went on injured reserve Thursday with a lower-body injury.

"Not available today," Kraken coach Dave Hakstol said before Thursday's game at Toronto. "We still have some further evaluation to do but he's not available today and we will update it a little bit more. It's not a day-to-day situation, we don't believe, but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves."

Schwartz, 31, took a shot off his foot in Tuesday's 4-3 loss in Chicago and left the game.

The 13-year veteran has eight goals and seven assists in 23 games this season, his third with the Kraken.

Over 691 games with the St. Louis Blues (2011-21) and Kraken, the 14th overall pick in the 2010 draft has 463 points (191 goals, 272 assists).

In Schwartz's place, Marian Studenic will make his Kraken debut Thursday against the Maple Leafs. Studenic, 25, has six goals and five assists in 15 games this season for Coachella Valley of the American Hockey League.

In parts of three NHL seasons with the New Jersey Devils and Dallas Stars, Studenic has three goals and three assists in 44 games.
