The LA Kings made a roster move on Sunday, placing defenseman Mikey Anderson on LTIR while freeing up some cap space.

While it’s not a lot of money, the Kings free up $925K in cap space in advance of Monday’s trade deadline. Per our friends at CapFriendly, Anderson must be on LTIR for a minimum of 10 games or 24 days of an NHL season.

The 22-year-old was moved from Injured Reserve, retroactive to March 7. He’s already missed six games, so he could presumably come off LTIR for the March 30 game in Edmonton.

In the meantime, the move puts the Kings back in the positive, with approximately $270K in available cap space after acquiring Troy Stecher.
