Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Simon Benoit signed a three-year contract extension worth $4.05 million on Friday.

Benoit, 25, has recorded five points (one goal, four assists) and averaged 16:55 of ice time in 54 games this season. He signed a one-year, $775,000 deal with Toronto on Aug. 28.

Benoit has totaled 20 points (five goals, 15 assists) in 191 career games with the Anaheim Ducks and Maple Leafs.
