The Minnesota Wild have placed forward Pat Maroon on injured reserve, the club announced Monday afternoon.

Maroon, 35, last suited up for the Wild against the Anaheim Ducks on January 27, logging just 4:15 of ice time and finishing with a minus-1 rating in Minnesota’s 3-2 loss.

The Wild announced on Monday that Maroon suffered an upper-body injury in the game against Minnesota. Through 49 games with the Wild this season, Maroon has four goals and 16 points.

In a corresponding move, the Wild recalled forward Jake Lucchini from the American Hockey League’s Iowa Wild under emergency conditions. The 28-year-old Lucchini has already appeared in eight NHL games with Minnesota this season.

The Wild originally acquired Maroon in July from the Tampa Bay Lightning alongside forward prospect Maxim Cajkovic in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Maroon had spent the previous four seasons with the Lightning, winning the Stanley Cup with the team in 2020 and 2021. He topped out at 11 goals and 27 points in 81 games with the Lightning in 2021–22.

Before that, Maroon won the Stanley Cup with his hometown St. Louis Blues in 2019, collecting three goals and seven points in 26 playoff games en route to the team’s first championship.

The 6’3″ Maroon made his NHL debut with the Anaheim Ducks all the way back in the 2011–12 season. He spent half a decade in Orange County before being traded in 2016 to the Edmonton Oilers, with whom he frequently rode shotgun with Connor McDavid.

Maroon scored a career-high 27 goals with the Oilers in 2016–17 and set another personal best with 43 points in 74 games the following year, which he split between the Oilers and New Jersey Devils.

Through 778 career games over his NHL career with Anaheim, Edmonton, New Jersey, St. Louis, Tampa Bay, and Minnesota, Maroon has collected 121 goals and 304 points. He’s added 51 points in 150 career playoff contests.
