As reported by Minnesota Wild senior writer Michael Russo, Wild defenseman Zach Bogosian is expected to miss at least a week with an upper-body injury.

Bogosian left Tuesday’s 6-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets where he logged 7:05 time on ice.

Bogosian left in the first period after attempting to make a hit on Neal Pionk. He was hunched over after the hit and skated toward the slot where he then was hit by a Josh Morrissey shot. Bogosian left in a heap of pain to the Wild locker room.

The grizzled veteran has notched one goal and 10 points in 40 games this season since being acquired by the Tampa Bay Lightning for a seventh-round draft pick. He appeared in just four games with the Lightning to start the 2023–24 season, being held without a point and averaging 11:57 of ice time per night.

Bogosian is in the final season of a three-year contract he signed with Tampa Bay in 2021; the contract holds an average annual value of $850,000.

Minnesota currently sits sixth in the Central Division with a 26-24-6 record to go with 58 points through 56 games. The Wild trail the St. Louis Blues and Nashville Predators by just two points and are itching to get themselves into a playoff picture. Minnesota will face off against the Edmonton Oilers on Friday and the Seattle Kraken on Saturday.
