Nashville Predators sign Dante Fabbro, Mark Jankowski to contract extensions

Jankowski will be making $1.6 million over his contract. He will receive $775,000 next season, and will get $825,000 during the 2025-26 campaign.

Both players are currently on one-year deals. Fabbro received his extended contract on March 3 of last season, also with a $2.5 million cap hit, while Jankowski signed an extension with an AAV of $775,000 10 days later.

This is the first time since 2020, while he was with the Calgary Flames, that Jankowski has been playing under a multi-year contract. The Hamilton, Ontario native has spent the last two seasons with the Predators’ organization, splitting time between Nashville and its American Hockey League affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals.

In 14 games with the Preds this season, Jankowski has two goals, registering an assist in Nashville’s 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night.

The 29-year-old has appeared in 336 NHL games, scoring 51 goals and 44 assists, playing 10 playoff games during his time in Calgary.

After his three-year entry-level contract with the Preds, Fabbro has signed one two-year, and now a pair of one-year contracts with the team. Through 51 games in 2023-24, the Coquitlam, British Columbia native has posted two goals and 10 assists.

In 304 career games, Fabbro has scored 15 goals and 56 assists, putting up just one assist in 14 postseason appearances with the Predators.

The Predators (36-25-3) are still in the thick of the playoff race. They hold the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, eight points ahead of the ninth-place Flames, and are currently fourth in the Central Division, eight points back of the Colorado Avalanche for third.
