NHL best bets: Three SOG props for Saturday Dec. 16

We have a packed day on the ice this Saturday, and a few terrific value spots have popped up that are worthy of some bets. Let's just dive right in.

Josh Anderson over 2.5 SOG (+122 FanDuel)

Montreal is facing an Islanders team allowing 38 shots per game on the road over the past month, so I certainly want to target some Canadiens here.

Josh Anderson stood out, averaging 3.4 SOG/game on 5.6 attempts/game over his last five games, going over this line four times. He's logged four shots on goal in three straight games, including two straight at home.

I also like seeing some rising attempts here, tallying six, seven and eight in successive games.

Tyson Foerster over 2.5 SOG (+145 DraftKings)

I backed Tyson Foerster the other day and he delivered, and he finds himself in a very similar situation tonight. He's facing a Detroit team that tends to hand out numerous power plays every game, and they're also allowing the fourth-most shots per game to LWs.

In comes Foerster, Philly's PP shot leader and top-line LW. He's over this line in four of his last six games, with four SOG in two straight games.

Last time he saw Detroit, he finished with three SOG and a goal.

Filip Forsberg over 3.5 SOG (+104 FanDuel)

We wrap up with a player in a very comparable spot to Tyson Foerster, operating with far better volume. Filip Forsberg is facing a Washington team struggling with penalties, and they are allowing the most shots to left wings over the past 10 games.

Forsberg is leading Nashville in power-play shots, and he's rolling at home this year. He's over this 3.5 line in 12 of 16 in Nashville, and he tallied four and six shots the past two times the Capitals have come to town.

He has some ideal volume as the Predators top LW and should find plenty of space to operate this evening.

Between you and me, I'm also planning on parlaying each of these guys together at one higher line on FanDuel, when they open shot props for the Predators game. Enjoy your Saturday!
