NHL best bets: Two SGPs for Tuesday Dec. 12

We had ourselves an article sweep yesterday to begin our NHL betting week, and we're very much interested in building on that momentum with a big Tuesday slate. We're staying in the shots on goal market, as it's been kind to us of late.

Artemi Panarin & Vincent Trocheck 3+ shots (+131 FanDuel)

I've been liking these shot stacks we can do on teammates with FanDuel's SGP offering, so it's typically been one of my first stops for the day's looks.

I definitely would like a piece of the Rangers tonight. They're averaging 35.0 shots per game as a team at home over the last month, while Toronto is seeing 34.0 shots per game against them on the road in the same span. Tack on that the Maple Leafs are skating on a second night of a back-to-back, and I most definitely project the Rangers to dictate pace.

Artemi Panarin is cruising here. He has 3+ shots in all 11 home games this season, averaging 9.2 attempts per game. He's a very solid look at his standard 3.5 line, but I'll move him down one and pair with Vincent Trocheck.

Trocheck has 3+ shots in seven of his last eight games, averaging 3.88 SOG/game on 6.38 attempts/game. At home, he's just as steady, going over in six straight and eight of 11 on the season. Trocheck seems likely to continue getting off 5+ shot attempts. When he finds that volume, he's logged 3+ SOG in 78% of games the past few seasons.

Jake Guentzel 4+ & Sidney Crosby 3+ shots (+115 FD)

I also expect Pittsburgh to find plenty of offense here. Arizona is allowing 35.1 shots per game on the road over the last month and handing out plenty of power plays. They too played last night and might have some tired legs against a rested Penguins team returning home off a frustrating road trip.

Pittsburgh should be coming out firing, and these are by far my favorite two to get involved.

Guentzel wrapped up his road trip strong, piling up nine SOG on 22 attempts in his past two games. I love seeing that, because his home volume has been truly superb. His last four games in Pittsburgh, Guentzel has averaged 10.5 attempts/game and 5.0 SOG/game. He has six SOG in two straight Arizona, Guentzel is a fantastic choice for a big night.

I'll pair him with Sidney Crosby to find 3+ shots. Crosby has 3+ in 11 of 12 home games this year, 23 of 26 overall, and four of the past five against Arizona, averaging 4.4/game.
