NHL best bets: Two SOG props for Monday, Nov. 13
We have just two games tonight on the ice, but that's no reason to shy away from some player props. We've got some quality prices on our hands for a pair of players with plenty going for them. Let's start this week in style with two shots on goal looks.
Leon Draisaitl over 3.5 SOG (+128 FanDuel)
Edmonton has a new head coach this evening, which might open up the door to some unpredictability. I can understand that hesitation, but based on what I heard from Kris Knoblauch's opening press conference, his focus seems to be on defensive aggressiveness to create more offensive zone chances for his team.
In that vein, I do expect the Oilers to maintain their shot-making ability, they're averaging 37.7 shots/game at home this season. On the other side is an inviting matchup against an Islanders team allowing 35.8 shots per game on the road.
I'll opt for Leon Draisaitl here at plus-money. Draisaitl has gone over this line in three straight games, piling up 14 SOG on 23 attempts.
Draisaitl has enjoyed some big games against New York, going for 5+ shots in three straight meetings on 27 total attempts.
Valeri Nichushkin over 2.5 SOG (-106 FanDuel)
This seems like a great price to grab Colorado's Valeri Nichushkin. Nichushkin is on Colorado's top line and will be expected to step up in the absence of Arturri Lehkonen.
Lehkonen being off the ice has been a welcome sight for Nichushkin's SOG prop, as the Avalanche forward has gone over 2.5 SOG in 10 of the past 12 games without Lehkonen, logging 4+ shots in nine of those games.
Nichushkin also loves seeing Seattle, going over 2.5 shots in six straight meetings and eight of their last 10 games. Nichushkin has seven SOG on 10 attempts in his past two games, which includes a game against these Kraken. I like him to keep it rolling against some positive trends.
