NHL bets: Three player prop plays for 1/4

Last night was our first article sweep in what feels like quite some time. The best course of action I see is to keep the momentum rolling with these NHL picks. It's a small slate, but we've found a few intriguing spots.

Dougie Hamilton assist (-104 FD)

I like the Devils to find themselves some goals tonight. They average 3.8 per game on the road this year, and Ville Husso has not been good lately in net for Detroit.

The Red Wings netminder has allowed four or more goals in four straight starts, with his last performance particularly troubling: four goals allowed on 12 shots faced before being yanked against Pittsburgh.

While the Devils' power-play scoring rate isn't among the league's best, they have found some goals when skating a man-up lately, and Detroit's PK over the last 10 (75% rate) and penalty troubles (3.6 power-play opportunities allowed/game) suggest to me that a PP goal is coming for New Jersey.

I say all this to paint the picture on why I'm intrigued in Dougie Hamilton. By all means, consider the Devils team total, set at a reasonable -115 for 3.5 total (including OT) on DraftKings. Instead, I'm rolling with Hamilton to log an apple.

The Devils defensemen has an assist in nine of his last 12 games and four in his last four road games. Against Detroit, he's tallied four assists in his past three meetings, including three in two games this season.

Involvement on the power play makes this play even more enticing. If you'd like a safer path, in case he scores, consider loading up his point. Might I recommend Kirill Kaprizov point as a parlay leg?

Jason Robertson goal (+113 CZR)

This one is relatively simple. Surely Dallas can pour on some goals against John Gibson, who is allowing nearly four goals per game. Especially off a disappointing two-goal effort, I expect the Stars to come out firing, and meet little resistance on the way.

Robertson has a goal in two straight games and had a hat trick when he faced Anaheim earlier this season. His shots look solid too, but I'll take the goal.

.5u: Miro Heiskanen & Trevor Zegras over 2.5 SOG (+210 CZR)

This is probably my favorite game for shots. Dallas is looser than you might think, at least on the road where they're seeing 33.5 shots per game against them.

Then obviously the Ducks are also a team to target. Defensemen in particular have been finding success against Anaheim, averaging 12.7 shots/game over the last 10, by far the highest amount in the league.

Heiskanen fits the bill there (no pun intended). Heiskanen has gone over 2.5 shots in six of his last eight games and four of his last five on the road. Earlier this season against the Ducks, he piled up four SOG.

I'll pair him with Trevor Zegras on the other end. Now, you could play Zegras at -125, but I like the combination here. Zegras has flipped a switch it seems. In his past three games, he's had a pair of monster efforts: seven shots and nine shots. His volume at home is far better, and considering he went over in all three meetings with Dallas last season, I like his chances tonight. He did go under earlier this year, but I've seen a different Zegras of late with his shot uptick.

If you don't have access to Caesars, Bet365 or Fliff, my recommendation would be to play Zegras straight and put .5u on Heiskanen to get 4+ shots, when that market opens.
