NHL bets: Three plus-money straights for Saturday, March 9

It was another profitable day here, as the plus-money SOG props are delivering us some good times lately on the ice. We aim to keep that going here as we take in some Saturday NHL action with a trio of bets by our side.

.75u: Shane Pinto 4+ shots (+162 FanDuel)

Senators @ Sharks, 7 p.m. ET

Shane Pinto and the Senators are taking on the San Jose Sharks, a wise time to pony up some investments on Ottawa shots. San Jose is allowing nearly 35 shots per game on home ice over the past month and a half, and they've been particularly kind to centers, allowing the second-most shots to the position across the last 10 days.

Enter Pinto, who centers Ottawa's top line. Pinto tops the team in 5v5 shots over the past five on the road, and he's been rolling against his SOG prop of late.

He has 4+ shots in five of his last nine and five of his last nine on the road, and his attempt volume has been superb, averaging 6.8 per game over his past five.

His over 2.5 is a great leg (more on that in a bit), I prefer the value on him hitting 4+ against this opponent.

.75u: Vincent Trocheck 4+ shots (+154 FD)

Blues @ Rangers, 7:30 p.m. ET

Speaking of great shot targets, St. Louis has been getting pummeled recently. The Blues have allowed 32+ shots in seven of their past eight games, and I don't see that changing here on the road against the Rangers.

Trocheck shares many of the factors that made Pinto so appealing to me. He's leading New York in 5v5 shots at home over the past five games, and the Blues have been vulnerable to shots from the center position more so than elsewhere recently.

Trocheck has 4+ shots in six of his last 10, and he has 5+ shots in four of his last five at home. He should see chances today to build on this impressive run.

Bonus note: I did also place 1u on Pinto/Trocheck 3+ shots at +166, as a safe foundational floor for these reads.

.5u: Wyatt Johnston 4+ shots (+230 FD)

Stars @ Kings, 10:30 p.m. ET

Come on, we need to bring back a familiar face who has been gracing our article plays with wins this week!

Wyatt Johnston is simply rolling, with 4+ shots in five straight and 5+ shots in four straight.

Lately, I've found myself throwing away the matchups and simply enjoying the ride of a guy who has been flying over his SOG total. These prices for the run to continue are just too strong to pass up. While I don't love Los Angeles as a shot target, it almost doesn't matter. Johnston has earned my trust, and at +230, I will gladly hop on again.

He hit this number last meeting against the Kings and has 4+ in three of his last four back-to-backs.
