NHL bets: Three prop plays for Wednesday's playoff action

We've got three games on our hands tonight in the hockey world, but our preference is out West with a pair of Game 2s that should offer us plenty of betting value.

Here's to a strong NHL night.

Zach Hyman goal (+130 FanDuel)

Kings vs. Oilers, 10 p.m. ET

That Zach Hyman hat trick on Monday night was no accident. Hyman was all over the front of the net against the Kings in Game 1, and it seemed clear early that Edmonton had a big offensive advantage when he and Connor McDavid were on the ice.

Hyman led the Oilers with six even-strength shots, and he logged an absurd seven high-danger scoring chances. That doesn't even include his power-play involvement, where he scored a goal, notched three more shots and another two high-danger chances.

His net-side role in this offense in a series that has historically been high-scoring in the playoffs should continue to pay off, and I want to join the ride.

Jamie Benn & Wyatt Johnston points (+174 DraftKings)

Golden Knights vs. Stars, 9:30 p.m. ET

This price is better on Bet365 if you have access.
I expect Dallas to even this series tonight, and it's the Stars' third line of Jamie Benn, Wyatt Johnston and Logan Stankoven that was most productive during Monday night's loss.

They led Dallas' forward lines with 10 shots on goal, and Jamie Benn and Wyatt Johnston combined for 21 shot attempts. The Stars should be operating with a higher sense of urgency tonight down 1-0 in their own barn, and I do expect Dallas to find 3-4 goals here.

Johnston assisted on a Benn goal in the first period on Monday, and the two both have nine points in their past 10 games. You could definitely play a Benn point straight if you wanted at -115, but I'll jump on the correlated value and plus-money that we get by tacking on Johnston.

Brayden McNabb over 2.5 blocked shots & Vincent Desharnais over 1.5 blocked shots (+171 ESPN BET)

Golden Knights vs. Stars, 9:30 p.m. ET

The blocked shots market is one I have definitely seen grow in popularity the past few days, and it's not hard to understand why. Defensemen are far more inclined to jump in front of the puck in postseason play: it's now or never.

With that in mind, we turn to a pair of defensemen who are facing off against teams that both lost their first games and should be set to up the desperation levels tonight.

McNabb casually racked up eight blocked shots in Game 1 against Dallas, and he now has 3+ blocks in five of his last seven playoff games and three straight postseason meetings with the Stars.

Desharnais finished with five blocked shots against Los Angeles on Monday and has 2+ blocks in five of the last seven playoff games against the Kings and six straight home games overall, averaging 3.17 blocks per game in that stretch.
