NHL Bets: Two team totals and looking to Vincent Trocheck props

Just three games tonight in the NHL, but some nice looking spots on the board, including going back to a team total that broke our hearts last night.

Vincent Trocheck

.5u: Trocheck 4+ shots (+168 FD)
.5u: Trocheck goal (+245 DK)

We'll lump a pair of plus-money bets on Vincent Trocheck together, both at a just a half-unit to spread the wealth. The Rangers are facing Ottawa tonight for the second straight game. Ottawa has been much looser to shots on the road, allowing 36.5 per game (and 3.3 goals per game), and the Senators continue to give opposing teams plenty of power play chances.

In slots Trocheck, who is second on the team in PP shots with 31 on the year. Trocheck was recently bumped down to the third line, a shift that has seemingly helped lift his shot volume, as he's registered 5 shots in two straight. As mentioned, one of those was against Ottawa on Wednesday, and he's tallied 18 shot attempts over these past two games.

I like Trocheck up at the 4+ shot mark instead of needing to parlay his over 2.5 with something else. He's scored in two of his last four home games, and with this volume and the power play chances coming, I like the +245 price for another tonight.

Nashville under 2.5 goals (-105 DK)

This was a heartbreaking loss last night, as Nashville scored their third goal with just nine seconds left before winning in overtime.

I'm going back to the well and fading the Predators once again. The same exact situation is presenting itself. Nashville is averaging just 2.6 goals per game on the road and the Islanders are allowing only 2.2 goals per game at home, thanks to the strong year from Ilya Sorokin in net (2.18 goals allowed/start, .933 save percentage).

The Predators should also struggle to find any success on the power play, the Islanders 83.1% PK should have no issues against Nashville's 16% PP scoring rate. It's once again an intersection of everything I'd want to see, and we get a better price tonight after what happened yesterday. Putting my faith in the numbers to deliver us redemption.

Winnipeg over 3.5 goals in regulation (-108 FD)

I initially wanted to take Winnipeg to win in regulation, but with the Jets rolling out their backup tender tonight, I'm going back to the first part of the read with their team total. The bet above can be found on FanDuel under "60 Min Winnipeg Jets Total Goals." The bet is exactly how it reads, we can't rely on a fourth goal in overtime for this to hit.

-108 feels like a real strong option, as it's -140 on DraftKings for the full game and -120 excluding OT.

The Jets are scoring 3.3 goals per game at home and are fresh off a 5-0 beatdown of Colorado, their third straight scoring 5+ goals. Columbus awaits, hitting the road for the first time since 11/12.

It's a welcome sight to see the Blue Jackets back as the visiting team, they've allowed 4.5 goals per game on the road and nearly 40 shots per. Five of the last six opponents they've played on the road have exceeded 4+ goals, and I'm confident Winnipeg can keep that rolling.
