NHL Friday bets: A +560 play for Detroit-Chicago

We have three games tonight in the NHL, and while I see value in each, I'd like to give extra attention to one game in particular: Detroit vs. Chicago.

By all means, make your own variation of this first play if you'd like a safer wager.

Dylan Larkin, David Perron, Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider 1+ point each (+560 CZR)

I've been noodling on how best to approach the read I have in this Detroit-Chicago game tonight. Chicago was one of the most generous teams to shots and goals last year, and it's shaping up to be another rough year for the Blackhawks.

Their penalty kill has been atrocious to start the season, killing off penalties at a laughable 66.7% rate. Tack on that they've been handing out four power play opportunities per game, and it makes me think Detroit has an active night scoring.

The Red Wings have averaged four goals per game on this young season, and I'd expect similar output tonight.

So, how to play it? I considered a Larkin-Perron points parlay. I considered betting Raymond and Seider to each grab a power play point at +300, given that they each had one PPP in both games against the Blackhawks last season.

Instead, we go for the throat and bet on all four of them being involved in the scoring tonight. I've written about it for a few days now, but Caesars, Bet365 and Fliff are the only books that offer the ability to SGP player points from the same team.

This is high-risk, high-reward strategy, but I believe in the read and I believe that these are the four most likely players to get involved in the fun.

Perron and Larkin both have four points in three games, and Perron and Larkin each had four points in their games against the Blackhawks last season. Raymond has two points this season and piled up five against Chicago in two games last year.

Seider has yet to grab a point this season, and tonight feels like the time for him to do so. He had one point in each game against Chicago last year and is out there involved both at even-strength and on the power play.

I have bet a full unit on this play.

David Perron over 2.5 SOG (-125 DK)

Given the expected power play opportunities for Detroit tonight, the logical choice to target for shots is David Perron, who leads the team in PP shots so far.

Perron had himself a big game on Monday, finishing with six SOG on seven attempts. Chicago is right on pace with their season average from last year, allowing 32.7 shots per game. Perron should have plenty of chances to get the puck on net this evening.

Enjoy the night on the ice, let's cash some bets and head into the weekend strong!
