NHL Monday bets: Two team totals to target

We already shared one team total bet for today's NHL slate of games, and there are two other teams that appear to be in advantageous spots for scoring on Monday.

Let's get to the spots.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have been rolling, putting up 4 goals yesterday in Pittsburgh. They have a much easier opponent today to keep the scoring coming.

Carolina is averaging 3.9 goals per game in their last ten on the road, which is the fourth-highest mark in the NHL.

They'll be in Philadelphia today, where the Flyers are allowing 3.6 goals per game in their last five at home and 3.5 in their last ten.

It's the goalie shift that puts this over the edge. Carter Hart is out, Martin Jones is in. Jones is allowing 3.6 goals per game this season and 3.83 per game in his last six starts.

Furthermore, there's a significant power play edge for Carolina, should they see those chances. In their past twenty games, Carolina's power play scoring rate ranks third in the NHL, while Philadelphia's penalty kill is the worst in the league.

Sebastian Aho scored in the third period yesterday while a man up to get Carolina to four goals, so don't be surprised to see a power play goal from the Canes in this one to help cash their over.

Best Bet: Over 3.5 goals in regulation (-115 DK)

Toronto Maple Leafs

On paper, this is a smash spot, and the lines certainly reflect that. Over 3.5 is -155 on DraftKings for Toronto, which won't work.

The Maple Leafs are averaging 4.8 goals per game in their last five road games (the most in the league), while Montreal is allowing 4.3 goals per game in their last ten at home (second-most).

Toronto should have no issues in this one against a far inferior opponent, but now it comes to how to play this.

This is the highest total I've bet yet, but I'm going for Toronto at over 4.5 goals in regulation.

It's rich, so by all means, consider adding a lower total to a parlay for some insurance, or just trying to nail down a Maple Leaf scorer.

Best Bet: Over 4.5 goals in regulation (+145 DK)
