NHL playoff bets: One bet for all four teams tonight

We found success in the East last night but fell short in the West, and now the rest of the NHL playoff field gets going with two more Game 1s. We're once again looking to two bets on both games, and we have a play that touches all four teams.

New Jersey Devils vs. Carolina Hurricanes

Brent Burns over 3.5 SOG (-108 FD)

I could see this series being a bit tight to shots, but if I'm going to pick a side to back it's going to be Carolina, and more simply: Brent Burns.

The Hurricanes notched 36+ SOG in all three home games last round, and Burns was a massive driver to that volume. He racked up 16 SOG on 31 attempts in those three games, and the Carolina defenseman went over this 3.5 number in five of six, finishing with 5+ four times.

Burns has had some nice recent games against the Devils, twice finishing with five or more shots on goal in his last three meetings, notching 9+ shot attempts in all three of those games.

For all the good they did last round, New Jersey did hand out a decent chunk of power plays, and Burns tops the Canes when it comes to shots on the man-up advantage. The volume has to be backed here.

New Jersey Devils moneyline (+100 DK/FD)

No matter who won Monday's Game 7, I had my sights set on playing their moneyline here in Game 1 on the round. My logic is relatively simple. Carolina has not played since Friday, opening the door for some potential rust or a sluggish start.

New Jersey, meanwhile, is fresh off a dominating Game 7 win at home and brings that momentum right into a new series. I thought the Devils looked great on Monday, and Carolina without Andrei Svechnikov and Teuvo Teravainen is just not as menacing to me.

Give me the Devils to win Game 1. 

Edmonton Oilers vs. Vegas Golden Knights

Leon Draisaitl goal (+105 FD)

I could see this being a high-scoring series, and I don't see how I don't go right to Leon Draisaitl here. The Edmonton forward was a force in Round 1, scoring seven goals in six games, including a goal in three straight to wrap the series.

We get a red-hot Draisaitl, and oh look at that — he's scored in all four games against the Golden Knights this season, five in total. That's about where my analysis is going to end. Edmonton's power play is firing on all cylinders, and they found a power play goal in three of four meetings vs. Vegas this season. Draisaitl is a major factor there, so don't be surprised if see him notch a power-play goal to cash this for us tonight.

William Karlsson point (+103 CZR)

I stick with my belief that goals are coming in this game and turn to the other side of the ice. William Karlsson had himself a strong opening round, finishing with five points in five games, four of which were goals.

I like following that momentum for one of the Golden Knights's most important forwards, and I like it even more when I see that Karlsson has a point in three straight against Oilers. Two of those points were goals, if you'd like to take a chance on a goal prop at +330. I'll play it safe and roll with the point at plus-money. Karlsson has a point in 18 of his last 28 games at home.
