NHL playoff bets: Three prop plays for Friday's Game 5s

We have two games tonight in the NHL, as the Maple Leafs look to stave off elimination at home and the Oilers-Golden Knights head back to Vegas for a pivotal fifth game. It should be a fun Friday, and we have three prop plays to get in on the action.

John Tavares over 3.5 SOG (+100 DK/FD)

John, my friend, it's great to see you back in Toronto!

John Tavares has gone over 3.5 shots in all five home playoff games this year, and eight straight home games overall. The shots were flowing far more steady for the Maple Leafs when they were at home to begin this series, and down 3-1 I certainly expect the volume to be there.

Tavares has five SOG in three of the four games against Florida this round, so load me up on his shots here at plus-money. He also has yet to score, but is easily leading Toronto in expected goals this series, for whatever that's worth to you.

Morgan Rielly & Evan Bouchard 1+ point each (+166 DK)

Rielly and Bouchard were two defensemen treating me quite right to begin their respective series, but neither came through with an assist in Game 4, handing me a pair of losses. Bouchard did score, and his shots have been up, and given that trauma, I'm pivoting to each of them to record a point and parlaying them.

Rielly has 21 assists in his last 16 games against Florida and I very much expect this to come in that form, if you'd like to play it straight. Bouchard has been a point machine this postseason, and with Darnell Nurse suspended, Bouchard is likely to carry an even larger burden from the blue line.

Rielly has seven points in his last four games at home, and Bouchard has finished with two points in all five road games this postseason.

Jonathan Marchessault over 3.5 SOG (+116 FD)

Marchessault was one of the features in this morning's Bark Bets so I'll keep the write-up brief (go subscribe!).

The Vegas forward has been on a tear this series, going over 3.5 shots each game, including three straight games with 6+ SOG. He's now finished with 4+ shots in nine of his last 12 against Edmonton and I will gladly load him up at over 3.5 at plus-money with the bump finally coming his way.
