NHL playoff bets: Three props for Friday night

Last night went poorly on the ice, but we put that behind us and embrace the four-game Friday slate we have in the NHL. Motivation is clear throughout, and for the most part, the cards have been shown as it relates to trends in this series. We're jumping on three plus-money prop plays to get our weekend started right.

Brock Nelson over 2.5 SOG (+102 FD)

The Islanders return home with a chance to push this series to seven games, and whether they do or don't, I do expect them to get their shots off. New York has had their two best shooting nights in the two home games this series, which is why I prefer looking to their side for a SOG prop this evening.

Brock Nelson at plus-money is my favorite spot. Nelson went over this total in both home games this series, and his volume has been much better in New York lately. On the road, Nelson is averaging just 4.2 attempts per game in his last five games, going over 2.5 SOG once.

At home however, Nelson is averaging 6.2 attempts/game over his last five, covering his shots prop line four times. He has 13 attempts in these two playoff home games, and in a must-win game, I like Nelson to step up.

Taylor Hall point (+108 CZR)

I like goals to be scored in Florida tonight, and cannot believe this is the price we're getting on Taylor Hall to get in on the fun.

Hall has eight points in his past four games, including six in the two games played in Florida. Hall now has a point in four straight road playoff games, and a lot of these have been goals, if you'd like to take a shot at a +280 prop.

That's going to be the end of my analysis. The man is rolling and Boston should be able to get some goals tonight as they look to wrap up this series.

Cale Makar 4+ shots (+146 FD)

Makar is back from a one-game suspension and is sure to be hearing it from the Seattle faithful tonight, which has me loving him to deliver a big game.

Makar has gone over his standard 2.5 line in three of four this series, twice finishing with four shots. His volume has been awesome, averaging 9.25 attempts per game. Going back further and I'm comfortable projecting Makar for 7+ attempts tonight. He's averaging 7.2/game in his last 10 and has 7+ attempts in seven of nine career games against the Kraken.

Makar has finished with seven or more attempts 38 times this season. When he hits this mark, he logs 4+ SOG at a 66% rate. At this price, I'm willing to hop on board.

Makar has 4+ shots in six of his past eight road playoff games. In a must-win game, I love one of Colorado's best players to do all he can to bring this series back to Colorado.
