NHL playoff bets: Two SOG props and one goal-scorer bet for Tuesday night

We need to get back on track with our bets in these NHL playoffs, and Tuesday's three-game slate seems like the right opportunity to do so. We're keeping it simple tonight, looking to two high-volume players returning home.

Brent Burns over 3.5 SOG (+104 FD)

The Hurricanes can close this series out tonight against the Islanders, and I expect them to do so. In the two home games this series, Carolina has finished with shot totals of 36 and 37, and they should be able to continue finding space to operate on offense this evening.

I'll gladly jump on Brent Burns here at plus-money, as he racked up 10 SOG on 17 attempts in those two home games. Burns has 4+ shots in three of four games against the Islanders in these playoffs, averaging 7.75 attempts/game.

The situation and the volume all came up Burns to start the day.

Jason Robertson over 3.5 SOG (+116 FD) w/ 50% boost

-130 without the boost, still playable at that price.

I'm using my FanDuel 50% profit boost on Jason Robertson today, but as I note above, I would be fine playing him straight at -130.

Here's my read: Dallas is fresh off a huge Game 4 win in Minnesota and has all the momentum ahead of a crucial Game 5 between these two. The Stars offense has been far more effective on home ice this series, and I'm confident that they get their shots off as they push for a third win.

Jason Robertson has been quiet the past two games in Minnesota, but returns home where he's tallied 11 SOG on 20 attempts to start the series. It's worth noting that the first game went to double-OT. If we remove Robertson's OT stats, he finished with nine shots on goal on 17 attempts, more than acceptable numbers.

Robertson has gone over 3.5 SOG in four of the past five against the Wild on home ice, averaging 5.6 shots/game in those games. At home over the past two postseasons, Robertson is over 3.5 shots in four of six, averaging 4.4 shots/game in his last five.

It just seems like one of those nights where Dallas could really use a big game from their best player. I'll double down on that belief with Robertson to score as well.

.5u: Jason Robertson goal (+148 FD)

Enjoy the games, let's get back on track!
