NHL pushes start of Avalanche-Stars to Saturday night

As had been expected, the NHL moved Game 1 of the Western Conference second-round playoff series between the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars to Saturday night. The puck will drop at 8 p.m. ET.

Per ESPN's Greg Wyshynski, the league had a noticeable gap in its broadcast schedule for Saturday due to results from around the postseason tournament. Colorado closed out the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday and could have been off for nearly a week.

Dallas eliminated the Calgary Flames on Thursday.

The league also confirmed that Game 7 times for the Philadelphia Flyers-Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues-Vancouver Canucks series will be announced at a later time, if necessary. Philadelphia and Vancouver hold 3-2 advantages with the Game 7s scheduled for Sunday.

The full schedule for the second round will be announced once matchups are official.
