Both the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames looked to tie their series in their respective Game 4’s.

Hurricanes road woes continue as Rangers tie series
The Carolina Hurricanes have a home-to-road split rarely seen in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. After their Game 4 loss to the New York Rangers, the Canes have a 6-0 record at home, and an 0-5 record on the road.
The difference in the game seemed to be goaltending, as the play itself was pretty even between the two teams, but the Antti Raanta struggled while Igor Shesterkin flourished. Because of that, the Hurricanes found themselves down 3-0 after two periods of play.
They tried to make a game out of it in the third, with Teuvo Teravainen getting their lone goal of the game, but Andrew Copp put the nail in the coffin with the 4-1 goal, and his third point of the night, to give the Rangers the win to tie the series.
Oilers save blown lead with late goal from Nugent-Hopkins
The Battle of Alberta continues to live up to the hype, as we got yet another exciting game with plenty of stories in Game 4.
It started out looking like another Edmonton Oilers blowout, as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Zach Hyman, and Evander Kane all scored in the first period to give them a 3-0 lead.
The Flames seemed out of it until the midway point of the second period, as Elias Lindholm and Mikael Backlund scored just 36 seconds apart, with Backlund’s goal being a particularly nifty one.
The Oilers did a good job of holding the one goal lead for the next 21 minutes in the game, keeping the play even and the puck out of the net. But, chaos ensued midway through the third, as Rasmus Andersson cleared the puck late in a penalty kill, and Mike Smith didn’t see it coming, and allowed a goal from 132 feet away.
However, Nugent-Hopkins managed to save Smith’s skin several minutes later, getting the game-winning goal with under four minutes left. Kane got his second of the night as well with the empty net, and the Oilers survive a blown lead to win the game 5-3, and take a 3-1 series lead.
