The Edmonton Oilers have inked forward Mattias Janmark to a one-year contract worth $1.25 million annually, the team announced on Sunday.

Oilers general manager Ken Holland drafted Janmark in the third round of the 2013 NHL Draft back when he was with the Detroit Red Wings. Janmark was then moved in a trade to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Erik Cole in March of 2015.

Janmark made his NHL debut with the Stars in 2015-16 and scored 15 goals and 29 points over 73 games as a rookie. Janmark played four seasons with the Stars and racked up 109 points over the course of 297 games. He also added 16 points over 45 playoff games for the Stars.

In October of 2020, Janmark signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks as an unrestricted free agent. He played 41 games for Chicago and got traded to the Vegas Golden Knights ahead of the 2021 trade deadline.

Janmark scored nine goals and 25 points over 67 games for the Golden Knights in 2021-22, a frustrating season for the team that resulted in them missing out on the playoffs and falling well short of their Stanley Cup contender projections.
