Here's a list of notable events on February 26 in Chicago Blackhawks history.

1947: Bentley Brothers Score Hat Tricks

On February 26, 1947, brothers Doug and Max Bentley each scored a hat trick in the Blackhawks' 9-7 win over the New York Rangers.

Doug opened the scoring in this barnburner affair. There were goals aplenty, and Max scored his first of the game on a power play in the final minute of the first period.

Doug wasted no time completing his hat trick as he struck 31 seconds apart in the opening minute of the second period. Max added his second tally 4:44 into the middle frame, putting the Blackhawks up 6-2 at the time.

However, the Rangers mounted a rally that Doug helped combat with a fourth goal that came early in the third period. Max iced the game with a tally to complete his hat trick with just over a minute remaining in the third period.

2008: Blackhawks Trade for Andrew Ladd

On February 26, 2008, the Blackhawks acquired Andrew Ladd from the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Tuomo Ruutu.

Ladd helped solidify the Blackhawks' forward group and bring home the 2010 Stanley Cup. Across two stints with Chicago, Ladd scored 111 points (45 goals, 66 assists) in 203 regular-season games. The British Columbia native added 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in 43 playoff games with the Blackhawks.
