Here's a list of notable events on January 9 in Chicago Blackhawks history.

1992: Dominik Hasek Records First Career NHL Shutout

The Blackhawks got the best of the Toronto Maple Leafs thanks to a perfect performance from goalie Dominik Hasek.

Jeremy Roenick opened the scoring in the first period, and that was all the goal support Hasek needed. The Blackhawks' netminder stopped all 21 shots the Maple Leafs threw at him en route to his first career NHL shutout.

Mike Hudson added an insurance goal in the third period as the Blackhawks defeated the Maple Leafs 2-0.

Notable Blackhawks Birthdays

Bruce Boudreau , mostly known for his NHL coaching ventures, was born on January 9, 1955. Boudreau spent most of his playing days with the Maple Leafs, but he finished his career with the Blackhawks. Appearing in seven games during the 1985-86 season, Boudreau scored the final goal of his NHL career with the Blackhawks.
