Here's a list of notable events on March 6 in Chicago Blackhawks history.

2018: Captain Serious Calls Game

On March 6, 2018, Jonathan Toews scored the game-winning goal as the Blackhawks defeated the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 in overtime.

This low-scoring affair featured just one goal in the first period as Erik Gustafsson struck to put the Blackhawks up 1-0. Nathan MacKinnon scored a power-play goal in the middle frame to draw Colorado even.

A scoreless third period led to overtime, and it took Toews just nine seconds to find the back of the net and give the Blackhawks a home win.

Notable Blackhawks Birthdays

Sam Lafferty , a journeyman NHL forward, was born on March 6, 1995. Lafferty spent parts of two seasons with the Blackhawks and scored 32 points (15 goals, 17 assists) in 97 games. The Blackhawks traded him to the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2023 NHL trade deadline.
