Patrick Kane ties Blackhawks' 21-game point streak record

The Chicago Blackhawks are on a three-game losing skid, but that hasn't stopped Patrick Kane from continuing his points streak.

Kane registered a power-play goal on Thursday night in the Blackhawks' 4-3 overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators. The marker puts him at a 21 consecutive games with at least one point, tying the franchise record set by Bobby Hull in the 1971-1972 season.

During the streak, which started Oct. 17, the Chicago forward has notched 13 goals and 22 assists. NHL.com reports via the Elias Sports Bureau that No. 88 "is the first NHL player with at least one point in at least 20 straight games since Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby had a 25-game streak from Nov. 5 to Dec. 28, 2010."

Kane set the record for most consecutive games with a point by an American-born player Nov. 28 against the Los Angeles Kings, breaking a tie with Eddie Olczyk and current Pittsburgh Penguin Phil Kessel.

The NHL record for most consecutive contests with a point sits at 51 games, which was set by Wayne Gretzky during the 1983-1984 season.
