Cutter Gauthier ’s trade from the Philadelphia Flyers to the Anaheim Ducks shocked the NHL world on Monday. His excellent performance in the IIHF World Championship kept fans excited for his NHL debut. Unfortunately, after his return from the Championship, the 19-year-old declared that he was no longer interested in playing for the Flyers.

His disinterest in the team followed several outreach procedures which ended in vain. Amid several speculations, Paul Bissonnette’s latest take on the story lighted up the fan community on X. Despite admitting how Gauthier’s trade talk has been “getting crazier and crazier”, he notes how a source pointed out Scott Hartnell ’s haircut as one of the possible reasons for Gauthier’s exit.

‘Biz Nasty’ penned on X:

Talked to a source extremely close to Cutter Gauthier and the reason he wanted out of Philadelphia was because of Scott Hartnell’s haircut. Paul Bissonnette on X.

Shortly after his post, the former NHLer Scott Hartnell took to his social media account to post an appropriate reply to Bissonnette. He said:

You are bang on here @BizNasty2pointO you are one of the better ones in the business I can tell you that for free!!! Been scaring NHLers for over two decades with this flow! #weird Scott Hartnell on X.

Cutter Gauthier refused to meet with Flyers representatives prior trade to Ducks

Following Cutter Gauthier’s adamant stance on quitting the Flyers team, they decided to exchange the 19-year-old for Jamie Drysdale from the Ducks as the best outcome. It was also reported that the rookie player refused to meet with Philadelphia Flyers President Keith Jones and GM Danny Briere despite their trip to meet him in Sweden.

Some blamed former Flyers forward Kevin Hayes for his rumored involvement in Gauthie’s trade. Their close relationship was marked out as a reason why Hayes could have been the one to influence Gauthier. However, the former rejected the notion and blasted reporters and fans for their take.

On the other hand, Flyers head coach John Tortorella’s savage take on Cutter Gauthier’s leave stunned the fan base again. His straightforward reply to Gauthier’s rejection to join the Flyers gained more than 1+ million views on X. Following the team’s 1-4 loss to the Penguins, Torts replied during a press conference,

I don’t know Cutter from a hole in a wall. I’m not too interested in talking about him. I’d rather talk about Jamie. He’s the guy that’s coming here. John Tortorella in press conference after Flyers vs. Penguins game.

Both Torts and Briere raved about Drysdale and noted how excited the whole team was to welcome him into the organization. Gauthier’s no-show at Flyers summer camp after the World Championship reportedly bothered several Flyers players. They were not pleased with his behavior.

If he doesn’t want to be here, we’re happy to move on and get the pieces that we did. Travis Sanheim as per NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Cutter Gauthier’s story is sure to take a more interesting turn in the future. While there may be several speculative stories, Gauthier himself has yet to comment in public. Fans are also eager for the real reveal of why he decided to quit the Flyers and join the Ducks instead.
