PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Penguins 2023-24 season has been full of disappointment and letdowns, but there has been a noticeable shining light these last few months. Jaromir Jagr and the Penguins’ organization have mended fences, and the city couldn’t be happier to have him back in the fold.

The only person happier that Jagr is back in Pittsburgh regularly might be Jagr himself. Since the Penguins retired his No. 68 in February, Jagr has spent a fair bit of time in town.

Jagr attended the Penguins’ game against the San Jose Sharks. Promotional Jagr bobbleheads were expected to be given away to fans at the game, but the shipment was stolen on its way to Pittsburgh.

This moment of cargo theft didn’t deter Jagr from having a great time in the Steel City. Jagr tweeted a video of him wearing a Penguins jersey at the game, but not his own. Instead, Jagr donned a sweater of his former teammate, Mario Lemieux. To make things even more wholesome, the jersey was signed by Lemieux.

Jagr has stated on many occasions that he was a massive fan of the Penguins’ icon before Lemieux became a teammate. Lemieux playing for the Penguins is the main reason why Jagr told multiple teams not to draft him in 1990; he desperately wanted to play in Pittsburgh with his icon.

Even after all these years, Jagr is still just a big fanboy for Lemieux. Jagr was in Pittsburgh taking part in the annual Lemieux Fantasy Hockey Camp. While his bobbleheads remain missing, it seems possible he’ll be around in some way when they are found and finally distributed to fans.
