The Pittsburgh Penguins are closing in on their final two preseason games of the year, but need a few extra helping hands before dropping the puck.

After recalling defenseman Ty Smith and forward Rem Pitlick and Avery Hayes, the Penguins and also brought back blue liner Xavier Ouellet.

This recall come a day before faceoff against the Detroit Red Wings and not long after the announcement that P.O. Joseph would be out on a day-to-day basis.

Ouellet appeared in one preseason game with the Penguins before being sent to the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Over the course of his career, Ouellet has played 178 NHL games and recorded 28 points.
