The Pittsburgh Penguins waived Radim Zohorna on Tuesday.

Zohorna, 27, has played in just two games since losing his spot in the lineup on Dec. 31. The 6-foot-6 forward, in his second stint with the organization, has played 31 games this season, scoring four goals with three assists.

Zohorna played in the last two Penguins games but received sparing ice time. He played less than five minutes in the Penguins overtime loss to the Carolina Hurricanes and just over seven minutes in their 3-0 win over the Seattle Kraken on Monday afternoon at PPG Paints Arena.

The move reduces the Penguins to 13 active forwards and about $975,000 of salary cap space, according to PuckPedia.com.

The Penguins won’t know if Zohorna clears waivers until 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Sam Poulin or Jesse Puljujarvi could be potential call-ups if the Penguins choose to recall a forward. Puljujarvi has resumed gameplay after signing a PTO with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Puljujarvi, the fourth overall pick by the Edmonton Oilers in 2016, has played five games with WBS, scoring one goal.

Forward Colin White, who was recalled Saturday when Noel Acciari was unavailable, still appears on the Penguins’ roster on the NHL website. White was a healthy scratch on Monday.
