P.K. Subban joins ESPN for Stanley Cup playoffs coverage

New Jersey Devils defenseman P.K. Subban is returning to the TV studio. He will serve as an analyst for ESPN for the remainder of the Stanley Cup playoffs. He will also be part of "The Point," an ESPN+ show that does a deep dive into the NHL.

Subban, 32, also served as an analyst for ESPN during the 2021 playoffs.

"I'm not saying I have the talent to be able to work on TV, but it's definitely been something that has been fun because I'm passionate about the game," Subban said back on May 1, via NHL.com. "I'm passionate to be involved in the game and it's a way for me to do that when I'm not playing. So, if I have the time to do it, and it works in my schedule and in my life, I'll definitely participate."

The three-time All-Star and 2013 Norris Trophy winner added that he isn't looking to make the full transition from hockey player to TV analyst just yet.

"As far as whether I do it as a career or job, I'll make that decision when my playing days are over," he said. "I still have a lot of hockey to play and I'm very passionate about playing and I want to play so that's my number one priority."

Subban has scored 467 points (115 goals, 352 assists) in 834 NHL games played for the Devils, Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators. He ended the 2021-22 regular season with 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) in 77 games for New Jersey, which finished seventh in the Metropolitan Division.

Subban is set to become a free agent this summer.
