Trevor Kuntar was born on June 20, 2001, in Buffalo, New York. Trevor’s father, Les, was a goaltender in the NHL and played six games for the Montreal Canadiens during the 1993-94 season. Trevor’s brother, Cameron, is also a goaltender playing for NCAA Division 3 Chatham University. Trevor is a forward who played two seasons for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres and compiled 14 goals and 25 assists in 47 games from 2015-17. Kuntar was drafted 226th overall in the 2017 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection but elected to play for the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League for three seasons. During the 2019-20 season, Kuntar was an assistant captain and contributed 28 goals and 25 assists in 44 games and was selected as a second-team USHL all-star.
The 6-foot, 196-pound center/left wing committed to Boston College to begin the 2020-21 season and scored six goals with four assists in 23 games during his freshman year. The stocky forward would show consistent improvement through his junior year by totaling 20 points in 2021-22 and 29 points during his junior season, with 13 goals.

Trevor Kuntar was selected in the third round with the 89th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins. The scout by Elite Prospects on Kuntar described the forward as a top-ten scorer in the USHL last season, wields a shot so heavy that he can beat goaltenders clean from just about anywhere in the offensive zone. Checking in at 6-feet-even, 203 pounds, Kuntar’s stocky frame allows him to hang in there on puck battles and leverage himself against the opposition when digging for loose pucks”.
After his junior season, the Bruins signed Kuntar to a two-year, entry-level contract worth $1.85 million on March 29, 2023. Kuntar has played one season with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League and scored 10 goals with 10 assists in 70 regular season games. Kuntar recorded one assist in four playoff games and will enter the 2024-25 season vying for an eventual spot on the Boston Bruins roster.
