Report: Bruins prospect Peter Cehlarik leaving organization for HC Lugano

Boston Bruins prospect Peter Cehlarik reportedly is leaving the organization for HC Lugano in Switzerland, according to Elite Prospects.

Cehlarik, 24, has never managed to stick with the B's big club since being drafted by the organization in 2013. While he has found immense success with Boston's AHL affiliate in Providence, it seems he's had enough of Bruce Cassidy.

Last month the young winger called out the Bruins head coach and even indicated he's had enough of the mistreatment.

"I can't cross the line to persuade Bruins (coach) Bruce Cassidy for good," Cehlarik told the Slovak media last month, according to 98.5 The Sports Hub's Ty Anderson. "Sometimes I felt as if he was just waiting for my mistake to send me back to the farm. They know what they are doing. They've invested years of development in me. It's all about trust from a coach I don't get. I still hear that I'm ready for the NHL, I have it, but when it goes like this, I need a change and a new start. It is high time."

Cehlarik shouldn't be blaming Cassidy for his NHL shortcomings. He has skated in 185 games for the Providence Bruins, and although he has amassed 136 points in the AHL, he has never proven himself enough to not ride the pine in the NHL.

Cassidy even admitted Cehlarik is "average" at best following a November matchup with the Senators. In moving on to HC Lugano, Cehlarik will join former NHL players Mikkel Bodker and Mark Arcobello, among others.

While the youngster is looking for a fresh start, he'll definitely get one in Switzerland, but his days in the NHL could be over.
