According to a report by Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the New York Islanders placed forward Julien Gauthier on waivers Friday afternoon.
Official confirmation of the move has not been made by the Islanders yet.
In 27 games this season with the Islanders, Gauthier has nine points with five goals
Teams have 24 hours to claim Gauthier off the waiver wire. If he goes unclaimed, Gauthier will be sent to AHL Bridgeport.
