Report: Nine-time All-Star Patrick Kane remains 'undecided' on future with Blackhawks

After consecutive losing seasons with a largely aging roster, the Chicago Blackhawks are in full-on rebuild mode.

The Blackhawks have been sellers all offseason, trading away budding stars like Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach while losing several players to free agency. With the writing seemingly on the wall, many wonder what will happen with nine-time all-star Patrick Kane

While the Blackhawks moving Kane in a trade at some point during the offseason seems like a sure thing, TSN's Darren Dreger says Kane's camp remains "undecided" about his future with the team.

The three-time Stanley Cup winner will enter the 2022 season on the final year of an eight-year, $84 million contract, which includes a full no-movement clause.

On the backend of his career, and the Blackhawks seemingly years away from being competitive again, the 33-year-old may opt for a trade out of Chicago in favor of a place where he has a chance to win now. Then again, he may desire to stay a Blackhawk for life.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 draft by Chicago, Kane has played his entire 15-year career with the Blackhawks.

Last season, Kane posted 92 points (26 goals, 66 assists) in 78 games for the Blackhawks.

Kane's 1,180 career points are second all-time in Blackhawks franchise history behind only hall of famer Stan Mikita (1,467).
