We don’t expect there to be any changes to the Canucks’ lineup, but there was a new face at skate today…

Filip Hronek skated on the “fourth pair” alongside Kyle Burroughs. He won’t play tonight, but the fact he took full part in morning skate is certainly a good sign.

Jonathan Quick is expected to start for Vegas, while Thatcher Demko returns to the Vancouver goal crease after Collin Delia backstopped the Canucks to victory on Sunday in Anaheim.

Aidan McDonough will have to continue to wait to make his NHL debut after the Canucks signed him to a two-year entry-level contract last week.

Quinn Hughes has a short and simple message for his doubters/haters.

“I feel like my game’s really good right now,” said Hughes. “I’m proud that I’m a plus. I’m playing a lot of minutes and defensively I’ve been trusted against the top lines. Anyone that says I’m a defensive liability, frankly, doesn’t watch me play at this point.

“I think as far as the numbers, I still haven’t scored a lot. I’ve missed a lot of my chances and I think that there’s still lots of room to grow to be honest with you. I’m happy with my game, of course with those awards you have to be on a team maybe that wins, but I feel like I’m right there with a lot of the guys for sure.”

Rick Tocchet talked about when Filip Hronek might make his Canucks debut.

“Yeah, first time I’ve seen him really with a bunch of people on the ice other than Yogi, our skills guy,” said Tocchet. “He’s itching to go. He’s day to day, good chance he’ll be in Thursday.”

The Canucks shocked the hockey world when they gave up a first and second round pick in order to acquire Hronek from the Detroit Red Wings ahead of the March 3rd trade deadline, and Canucks fans have been eager to see him actually play a game.
