Seth Jones netted two goals and Arvid Söderstrom made 37 saves as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Arizona Coyotes 5-2 on Tuesday night.

Jones, Nick Foligno, Philipp Kurashev and Jason Dickinson all scored for the Blackhawks (16-42-5). Rookie phenom Connor Bedard recorded two assists as Chicago snapped a seven-game losing streak.

Michael Carcone and Nick Bjugstad registered both goals for the Coyotes (25-32-5). Clayton Keller returned to the lineup after a four-game absence to play the 500th of his career.

The Coyotes fell into penalty trouble throughout the night, and the Blackhawks took advantage.

On a 5-on-3 power play, Chicago threatened in Arizona’s defensive zone before Jones fired a wrist shot that beat Ingram for a 1-0 Coyotes lead. The Coyotes outshot the Blackhawks 17-12 in the first period despite trailing.

Following a goaltending battle between Söderblom and Ingram in the initial frame, the second was infested with offense. Ingram stopped 27 shots in the Coyotes’ loss overall.

Bjugstad tied the game 1-1 2:07 into the second after firing a shot into the back of the net.

Foligno tapped in a pass from Bedard before Carcone knotted it up once more with a rebound goal, making it 2-2 in the second.

“We were just not good enough,” Bjugstad said postgame. “Taking penalties, it’s just a tough one when you are in the [penalty] box. We didn’t put up too much of a fight as far as a pushback. It’s just not an acceptable effort.”

Dickinson scored before Kurashev extended Chicago’s lead to 4-2 with a one-timer just seconds into a power play. The Blackhawks were 4-for-5 on the man advantage.

With just one goal through 47 games this season before tonight, Jones scored twice as he capped off the Hawks’ 5-2 victory with an empty-netter.
