San Jose Sharks forward Timo Winger is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, head coach David Quinn told reporters on Sunday afternoon.

Meier, 26, has 31 goals and 52 points in 57 games with the Sharks this season. Quinn added he’s unsure whether Meier will play on Monday as the Sharks host the Seattle Kraken at 1:00 p.m. PT.

Meier ranked in the No. 1 position on Frank Seravalli’s latest Trade Targets list at Daily Faceoff

Seravalli listed the New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, Pittsburgh Penguins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Winnipeg Jets as potential suitors for Meier in his Trade Deadline player profile, although you can safely scratch the Rangers off the list with Vladimir Tarasenko now on Broadway.

While Meier’s tantalizing combination of skill and size (6-foot1, 220 pounds) is sure to attract teams from around the National Hockey League, his hefty $10 million qualifying offer might scare off even more would-be suitors. Meier is a pending restricted free agent with just one year left on his clock before he can hit the open market.

The Sharks originally selected Meier in the first round (No. 9 overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. The Herisau, SUI product has collected 154 goals and 316 points in 451 career games over parts of seven seasons with the Sharks, adding seven goals and 20 points in 35 playoff contests.

Meier has plenty of time to recover from his current injury before the Mar. 3 trade deadline, although you can be sure it won’t deter teams from calling Sharks general manager Mike Grier. The Sharks currently rank seventh in the Pacific Division with a 17–29–11 record through 57 games this season.

After Sunday’s game against the Kraken, the Sharks will welcome the Nashville Predators, Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens, and St. Louis Blues to SAP Center leading up to the trade deadline.
