Vegas Golden Knights forward Sheldon Rempal is reportedly signing with HC Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the KHL.

The 28-year-old forward has been a mainstay in the AHL for the past six years, but he’ll be taking his talents overseas at the end of this season.

According to Championat, a Russian sports news outlet, his contract is worth 90 million rubles (about $964,197) per season and also includes an undisclosed bonus.

For reference, he signed a two-year, $1.525 million ($762,500 AAV) contract with Vegas on June 13, 2022.

The Vegas Golden Knights have yet to confirm the move.

Rempal has struggled to find his footing in the NHL. The former undrafted winger made his NHL debut in 2018, but has only played in 21 NHL games since — half of which for Vegas.

He scored his first NHL goal on Jan. 23 and followed it up with a second goal three days later. He finished the 2023-24 season with two goals and one assist in nine games.

But that was in the NHL.

In the AHL, Rempal was a key member of the Henderson Silver Knights.

He has 106 points (51 goals, 55 assists) in 106 games since joining the team in 2022.

And that came after a 2021-22 that saw him record a career-high 69 points (33 goals, 36 assists) with the Abbotsford Canucks.

He leads the Silver Knights with 26 goals in 2023-24, and is second on the team in points (43).

If the reports are true, he’ll soon be making his KHL debut — with a little raise to go with it.
