Jimmy Snuggerud is off and running.

The 2022 first-round pick by the St. Louis Blues has set a blazing trail to begin his sophomore season with the top-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers, including a goal and an assist on Friday in a 4-0 win at North Dakota.

Snuggerud, who has seven points (five goals, two assists) for 3-0 Minnesota, could be setting himself up for a big season and could perhaps turn pro as early as next season.

Among Snuggerud's five goals, two of them are game-winners.

Snuggerud and the Golden Gophers are back in action Saturday against the Fighting Hawks.
