Boston Bruins lefter wing Brad Marchand Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports

Death, taxes and Brad Marchand stirring the pot.

They’re three of the most consistent things in the world, and this week was no different.

Marchand got into a bit of an online spat with Carolina Hurricanes forward Vincent Trocheck and the team this week. It started with Trocheck calling the Bruins forward “a rat” before Marchand fired back, calling himself a Lamborghini and Trocheck a Prius.

This, mind you, was ahead of Tuesday night’s clash between the clubs.

After the Hurricanes dropped the B’s 7-1, they roasted Marchand on Twitter, only for him to fire back.

Yaremchuk: “I think it’s hilarious! Is it cool or cocky the way Marchand has been handling things on social media?”

McKenna: “Oh, it’s both. It’s awesome — I’m so here for it. Every sport needs a villain and let’s be honest, both of the parties involved here have been total villains. The way the Carolina Hurricanes trolled the Montreal Canadiens endlessly and the way Marchand is now using his social media to snipe at people, and I love it.

“I think that it’s just in the fun of it and people within the sport know what Brad Marchand is like away from everything we see and hear. Yeah, he chirps, he’s good at it, but he’s got a good rep of being a good teammate, good person to be around.

“I love that Marchand was willing to speak his mind. I don’t always agree with him, but we need more of that. And he can back it up.”
