Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

On Tuesday’s edition of the "Daily Faceoff Show," Frank Seravalli and Mike McKenna discussed which team would be the best fit for Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller.

Seravalli: “I mentioned last night that there are at least four teams that have expressed interest in J.T. Miller to this point with the Vancouver Canucks. They’re the New York Rangers, the Boston Bruins, the Calgary Flames and the Minnesota Wild. Of those four teams, or feel free to go off the board, which one is the best fit for J.T. Miller moving forward?”

McKenna: “I’d like to see him as a Boston Bruin. There are a couple of reasons why here.

I think for the Calgary Flames, quite honestly, I don’t know how J.T. Miller fits in to that dynamic. I don’t know how that relationship would go with Darryl Sutter. That’s a real concern of mine.

Looking at the Rangers, that’s a team with a lot of firepower. Could he help them 5-on-5? I think so. He’d be a good fit there because he’d give them some more depth. I like that, but I like the Bruins better.

Center ice has been in flux for the Bruins this year. Erik Haula has done a good job moving up to the second line with Taylor Hall, but you have to think that J.T. Miller would be an upgrade in that respect. You can put him on either the first or second line, or you can chuck him on the wing.”

Seravalli: “I think the Rangers stand out as the team that’s sort of been next-level in terms of interest. They have a fit there, and he’s comfortable with the organization, having played there in the past.

I just wonder about Minnesota and how active they’re going to be at the trade deadline. They have all of that dead salary cap money coming, $14 million in dead space next season, so this is one year to really try to make hay.

The other part about Miller is that he’s really attractive to any team because of that one extra year on his deal. You get J.T. Miller at a super reasonable cap hit for a point-per-game player.”
