Today Nashville Predators defenseman Jeremy Lauzon recorded 29 hits, a remarkable feat especially as the 26-year-old Quebec native has been vacationing during Nashville's break.

Here's how he accumulated nearly 30 more hits while away from the arena.

Today NHL Public Relations announced that they completed an audit of hits so far this season and made adjustments to their official stats. In doing so, the Nashville Predators defenseman added to his already league leading total.

The 6'3" blue liner now has 200 hits on the season, 53 more than New York Islanders' veteran Cal Clutterbuck who ranks second in the league behind Lauzon. Vancouver's Dakota Joshua is third with 145 while Evander Kane leads the Oilers in hits and ranks fourth overall in the league.

Lauzon is on pace to set a new career high for in hits in a single season. In 2022-2023, he recorded 250 hits in 67 games but is on pace to reach over 300 hits and possibly flirt with the franchise high set by former Predator Tanner Jeannot in 2021-2022 (318).

It isn't just Lauzon's physicality that has taken a step forward this season. He has also surpassed his single season goal record with five scores so far and is on pace to set a career high in points as well. Lauzon credits the physical aspect of his game with helping his all around performance on the ice.

"I know guys get going when I get a big hit there," Lauzon said in a late January postgame interview after scoring his fifth goal of the season in a loss to the Florida Panthers.

"For myself, for my game, every single time I hit I feel like I have a little more mojo. Maybe find myself playing better hockey. Every night I just try to be physical out there, be a force on the back end, and obviously if I can bring some energy, that's just a bonus."

Lauzon will look to continue improving his offensive and defensive stats when the Predators return to the ice on Saturday night against the Arizona Coyotes.
