Three NHL bets for Wednesday: Goal props top the night's choices

Tonight in the NHL, we have a pair of goal-scorers who appear to be in strong spots, along with a shot on goal prop targeting the most generous team to shots in the league. All three plays are plus-money this evening.

.5u: Jordan Kyrou goal (+210 CZR)

Jordan Kyrou has been the most consistent shooter on St. Louis this year, by far. He's recorded 3+ shots in all four games this season, averaging 6.25 attempts per game.

This includes a game against Edmonton on Saturday. In what was a very tight shooting contest, Kyrou was one of the very few who covered his SOG prop, marking the third straight time he's gone over his shots when facing the Oilers.

So, why not go shots? Well, the price is getting progressively more juiced, odds sitting currently between -160 and -175. We'll pivot to his goal in what should be a higher-scoring game tonight in St. Louis.

Edmonton is allowing 33.2 shots and 3.3 goals per game, and this marks the Oilers' first road game of the season. The Blues should have plenty of chances, and it's Kyrou I trust the most to be involved given his volume.

He scored in both games against the Oilers last year, and despite just one goal, he tops the Blues in expected goals through their first four games.

1u: Steven Stamkos over 3.5 shots (+122 FD)

We have to target an Anaheim team that's seen 41.2 shots per game against them per game. Not only are the shots flowing when teams get the Ducks, so too are the power plays. Anaheim is averaging 4.33 PPOA per game this season, one of the highest rates in the NHL.

In comes Stamkos, who has gone over this 3.5 number in six of seven this year, including all five road games. Stamkos leads the team in power-play shots, shots and attempts. It's a no-brainer to target this man in this spot, even on a back-to-back. Stamkos had a back-to-back on 10/15, finishing with four SOG and a goal.

1u: Nikita Kucherov goal (+155 CZR)

Stamkos is a great look for a goal, but I'm going with Nikita Kucherov at better odds. Kucherov finally netted one yesterday, which I'm hoping is the opening of the floodgates.

On an expected goals basis, Kucherov should have more goals than the box score suggests (2.34 xG vs 1 goal), and this is the perfect opportunity to get his second.

His shot volume has been steady, and like Stamkos, he is very involved on the power play. The Ducks not only are giving up power plays, their penalty kill is having issues slowing teams down.

Off a loss last night, Tampa Bay should be plenty motivated to get things rolling tonight, and this has been the most generous team on the ice in the league for both shots and goals.
