Three plus-money NHL player props for Thursday Nov. 16

We came out in the green on our two SOG looks yesterday thanks to Valeri Nichushkin, and now we're locked in to some plus-money spots on a packed Thursday slate in the NHL.

1u: Patrik Laine over 3.5 SOG (+122 FanDuel)

I definitely would like to target Arizona for shots tonight; they allow nearly 32 per game on the road and are handing out 4.1 power-play opportunities per game over the past 20 days.

Patrik Laine returned to the Columbus lineup three games ago. In that stretch, he's leading the team with four power-play shots, has gone for 4-3-4 SOG, and has 7+ attempts in all three games.

The last two times he's seen Arizona, Laine finished with five and six SOG on 11 and 12 attempts ... some lovely history to see.

Wings have had some nice recent success against the Coyotes for good measure: Jason Robertson and Filip Forsberg both finished with seven SOG and Jared McCann had four.

1u: Tyler Toffoli over 3.5 SOG (+110 FanDuel)

There's still no Jack Hughes in New Jersey, and it sounds as if Timo Meier may not play tonight either against the Penguins. Even if Meier does go, it doesn't impact my interest in backing Tyler Toffoli here.

Given the state of things, the burden of offensive shot creation should fall heavier onto Toffoli's shoulders, and based on some recent outputs, he should be up for it.

Toffoli has 19 shot attempts in his last two games, and he's finished with four SOG in three of his last four. The Penguins are allowing 32.1 shots per game at home and struggling with penalties, which should give Toffoli some man-up advantages to log an extra shot or two.

.5u: Nazem Kadri over 3.5 SOG (+130 DraftKings)

Calgary's Kadri is my preferred look to rack up some SOGs against a Vancouver team seeing nearly 31 shots per game against them.

Kadri has loved skating at home in his past two such games, piling up 14 total SOG on 18 attempts. He's also loved seeing the Canucks through the years, going over this 3.5 shots line in five of his last seven meetings, averaging 4.6 SOG/game. That's enough for me, though he hasn't this line too much, so I've bumped him down to a half-unit wager.
